Believe it or not, I had decided that I was going to build the Velocity back in 1995. Unfortunately, we didn't have the space to do it at the time, or the money for that matter. Knowing that things don't happen unless you make them happen, I set the date with my wife that on my birthday in the year 2000 we will order the kit. In the mean time we moved to Plainwell and a house that had room on the lot for the workshop. I also used the time to arrange the financing and find a contractor for the workshop. I could have placed the order month's earlier, but the plan was 3/3/2000 and we stuck to it.
