AirVenture 2008
Velocity Cookout & Family Reunion

2008 turned out alright. With the high price of fuel, I was dreading the prospect of a low turnout. As it turned out, the numbers were up. The weather was perfect. We had a great time. Burgers and brats worked well last year, so we stuck with it. Same as last year, if you didnt get enough to eat, it was probably Ken Bakers fault.

Our hope for 2008 was to make the Cookout as much of a success as last year. I think we did.

The head count went somewhere over 100. Too many people to get to meet everyone!

Thanks again to all the voluteers. They made this happen!

I know Im going to forget someone, so Ill offer my apology up front. :(
  • Thank You Velocity for your support and sponsorship!
  • Thank You Bob Wood for all the beer and pop! Sorry you weren't able to come for dinner. :(
  • Thank You Joe Ramsey for the AV equipment!
  • Thank You Brett and Elizabeth for toting two tables up from Cincinnati!
  • Thank You Jerry and Linda for the grill, the prep work and everything!
  • Thank You Dave and Kathy for getting the site and all the help!
  • Thank You Theresa (my lovely bride) for putting up with a husband and his wild ideas of having a cookout 400 miles from home!
  • Thank You Rich Guerra for staying this year. Your mother is proud of you! :) Oh, and thanks for bringing the DVDs!
  • Sorry that Albert Khaskey wasn't able to make it Minnesota!
We hope to do it again in 2009
